Sri lankabhimanya Wannakwatta waduge Done Albit Perera better know by is adopted name Amaradewa was a prominent Sri Lanka Sinhalese vacalist ,violinist and composer,primarliy using traditional instrument like sitrs,tablas and harmoniums,he in corporated sinhala folk music with india ragas in his work.many consider his contribution to the development of sinhala music as unmatched ,hence .he is occasionally cited as the 'Maestro Of Sri Lanka Music'

In the mid - 1950 Amaradewa in his janagayana project consulted experts of the Kandyan Dance tradition .like Panibharath Kirigenita ,Gunamala,Ukkuva and Suramba in his path  to undestand what consititued Sinhala folk Music nothin that is mostly revolved around a singel melody he created a uniquely sinhales music style that stayed true to folk while incoparation outside influences.His work has vital in the creation of the 'Sarala gee'practised subsequently by artists like SanathNandasiri,Victor Rathnayeka ,T.M.Jayarathne ,Sunil Edirisinghe and Gunadasa Kapuge.
